Gardenstown Village Action Committee (GVAC) is a constituted group facilitating projects, activities and events to benefit the community.
The Gardenstown Village Action Committee was established in 2013 with the aim of regenerating community spirit in the village. We carry out work and events around the village and work with all the other community groups and organisations.
We always welcome new committee members, or other folk who wish to volunteer to help out in any way at all – please get in touch!
The many activities and actions which GVAC have undertaken include:
- Village entrance boats and anchor features
- Barrels and planting including daffodils and bedding plants
- Christmas lights, trees and carol singing at the harbour
- Notice boards, information panels and old street name signs
- Gardenstown and Crovie information leaflets
- Annual Fish and Quiz nights in the Dreel Hall
- Hog Roast and other activities on the beach
- Mural at New Ground
- Concreting to ramp and steps down to the beach
- Gardenstown tea towels
- Regular liaison with Aberdeenshire Council and the local Community Council
